Senior Project Manager, Turn-Key Submarine Network Deployment. 
Must have experience as a Turn-Key Project Manager within this field. 

Type/ Location

Permanent role. 
Location: UK, although discretion for the suitable candidate to perform some duties remotely is an option. 
Rate: Negotiable depending on experience. 
Worldwide travel: customer meetings, attend site, manage sub-contractors. 
Statement of Works: TurnKey Submarine Network Deployment
The statement of works for a turnkey submarine network will include all related marine aspects including permitting, survey, barge work, main lay installation, short front haul work, fitting out of terminal stations, supply of terminal equipment and power feed and all commissioning and engineering work up to preliminary and final site acceptance. 

Job Description

The Senior PM role will be responsible for the timely delivery and management of a specific Turn-Key Fibre Optic Network. PM will be expected to manage a team of individuals both on a full time basis and at a virtual level as the necessary support personnel come on/off line during the project life cycle. 
In this role you will form part of the overall Project Delivery team and work within agreed procedures to ensure that contracted work is completed on time, within budget and within quality requirements. 
You will accompany the project from an agreed point in the solution design process, and then manage and closely monitor the project throughout the planning, execution / controlling and closing stages. You will be instrumental in commercial and technical execution of the Project. In addition you will contribute to the Lessons Learnt Database and continuous improvement. 
The candidate MUST have strong background knowledge of submarine networks engineering. 

Required Skills:

Approved Project Management Qualification (APM, PMP, PRINCE or similar). 
Expert knowledge of subsea telecoms system design and integration 
Ability to coach and mentor the team in the various aspects of system delivery. 
Ability to write clear and concise project documentation of an international standard. 
Ability to construct clear, concise, high quality and complete business documentation 
Proven experience working within a cross-functional environment. 
Thorough knowledge and proven track record in the submarine telecommunications industry including all facets that makes up a repeatered fibre optic network in particular: 
Manufacture of transmission equipment and repeaters, inc FAT's. 
Manufacture of cable inc FAT's. 
Marine Engineering inc marine survey and offshore installation 
Fitting out of terminal stations 
Civil engineering aspects of the project that include terrestrial cable placement, beach man hole construction. 

An understanding of fitting out of cable landing stations. 
Through knowledge of the procedures associated with commissioning, integration and acceptance of DWDM equipment, NPE, NMS, PFE & monitoring equipment 
Strong and demonstrable Project Management skills. 
Relevant degree or education consistent with good analytical capability. 
Excellent ability to motivate Project Team. 
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Project Server and Web-Access environment. 
A willingness and thirst to drive through new ways of working. 
Results-orientated individual with a desire to improve performance. 
Presentation skills 
Team player 
Excellent management skills

Experience in multi-national industry 
Willingness to travel
